Good conference technology should be heard and barely seen. The DICENTIS Multimedia device resolves that tension by combining two microphone concepts in one unit: the classic stem microphone and an invisible array inside the base.
The integrated array microphone
Six MEMS microphones sit in the base. They are active whenever no stem microphone is plugged in. AI algorithms evaluate their signals and create a virtual stem microphone: the speaker’s voice is captured naturally, even when they turn left or right. The result is freedom of movement at the seat, with audio quality comparable to a traditional stem microphone.
Of the six microphones, two handle speech pick-up while the others serve to suppress unwanted noise. A trained algorithm distinguishes the active voice from background sound.

The plug-in stem microphone
Where room acoustics call for it, or where the familiar sight of a microphone arm is preferred, a stem microphone is plugged in. It automatically disables the array, and audio processing adapts to the microphone in use.
Four variants are available:
- DCNM-MICLC – long stem, cardioid
- DCNM-MICLWC – long stem, wide cardioid
- DCNM-MICSC – short stem, cardioid
- DCNM-MICSWC – short stem, wide cardioid
Two paths, one safeguard
The two concepts complement each other not only visually but operationally: if the stem microphone fails or is disconnected by accident, the integrated array takes over seamlessly. The meeting carries on.
